Hi there - my name is Kris and I'm the owner/head pastry chef at My Home Bakery. 

Believe it or not, most of our team have a background in something completely different – everything from marketing to medicine! But for one reason or another, they’ve found their place in the bakery environment and have become valued members of our team.

We are not afraid to invest time, energy and tutoring if we see that a person is ready to commit and learn. From a few hours a day to a proper part time job - it can be a solid step towards a great career. 

Here at MHB everything is made and baked from scratch and we pride ourselves on delivering consistent quality produce. We stay true to our tried and tested recipes so there is considerable repetitiveness to our baking schedule. We understand - this may not suit those perhaps looking for a more creative role. 

Visit our shops to see who we are and what we bake. Our pastry chefs bake all the cakes for both our shops while our bakers master all savoury items and bread, including morning pastries and sandwiches. 

All positions are paid. We are a proud Glasgow Living Wage company.

NIGHT TIME BAKER (PT)

We are looking for a night time baker for our kitchen in Partick.

Our night time bakers bake our savoury & bread selection.

 

Though not a glamorous role, it can be a fulfilling one! It is challenging work, and everything must be done as shown and according to recipes as we pride ourselves on consistent quality.

 

This job starts at 3-4am, so if you're naturally a bit of a night owl this could be the job for you! You'll be expected to work 2 days out of 4 we are open (Thursday to Sunday). Yes - we work weekends. Every weekend!

PART TIME - 12-16h over 2 NIGHTS once full training has concluded. Our kitchen is based in Partick and free parking is available.

Applicants must have at least 1 year commercial kitchen experience to qualify for this role. Experience in a bakery environment is advantageous, but not essential.

PASRTY CHEF (FT)

We are looking for an experienced pastry chef to join our West End kitchen.

Our pastry chefs prepare all cakes from scratch and according to our set recipes.

FULL TIME - 40h over 5 days (Wednesday to Sunday) once full training has concluded. Yes - we work weekends. Every weekend!

 

This role starts at 5-6am. Our kitchen is based in Partick and free parking is available.

You will need at least 2 years commercial kitchen experience as a pastry chef to qualify for this role. Experience in a bakery environment is advantageous, but not essential.

SHOP ASSISTANT

We are looking for a shop assistant for our Soouthside shop.

PART TIME - 10-16h over 2 days once training has concluded. Hours will be shorter during training period. 

Weekend availability is essential as we work weekends!

No barista training necessary.
