following the upcoming move into level 4, I want to give everyone an update about what’s happening with us.
At the moment we are staying open for this Thursday as usual.
Opening hours and even days starting Friday and for the following weeks, during level 4, will be changing to our need. WE WILL BE definitely open for Click&Collect hours (10-12 Fri and Sat), but wether we will stay open for hours afterwards and on Thursdays & Sundays reminds a question - answer to which we will find after the first weekend.
People are allowed to leave homes for purchasing food and doing their exercise, same is with dog walking. That means there will be people on the streets, but the question is wether enough to keep sales. I guess it pretty much DEPENDS ON US in the shop giving info that we are open and WILL BE open, and same for all social media. We need to encourage customers to do their walk and/or purchasing trip in our working hours. C&C is the only way product can be guaranteed.
Josh & Naomi - ill be in touch re info in the shop windows and social media.
Your wages on this Fridays for the previous week are unaffected and will be paid as usual - tomorrow.
For this weeks hours - I am waiting on bookkeepers confirmation about what the situation with Furlough really is as at the moment there is bigger mess than clarity about who gets it and in what amount. That said - ONE point is clear - in difference to first furlough back in April - this one requires the company to pay its part in taxes and pensions for employees furlough wage and government is not giving any grants for that. If company cannot pay those - furlough won’t be activated for us.
Company can pay those ONLY if there is money coming in, which means - this time around the furlough will be possible only in type of PART-FURLOUGH where we go under furlough payment only to cover missing hours. Something like what happened in summer with us working very limited hours. In other words - each and every one of you will have to earn your part-furlough by working. Please keep in mind we all work in an industry that is exempt from closing and we cannot work from home, so there won’t be justification not to show up for your shift. I cannot work more than I am doing already and stepping in to take over someones else shift won’t be possible. And it is not fair to anyone else to be forced to take your shift, we all are in this together - please keep this in mind.
That said - please be avare that our COVID procedures are still in force and if you or someone in your household have any symptoms - you need to let me know ASAP and proceed with testing and isolating.
I will be in touch again when I get clear answer from bookkeeping what and how is with the furlough this time around. But just to be clear - The company will be paying for all hours worked, no matter what - please don't worry about that!
